World in my mind - Is it possible to stop smoking? - Smoking is not only a dangerous habit it is also expensive. It costs a person literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars every year. With this in mind it is no wonder that so many people want to say goodbye to the demon smoke, quit for good and feel great. If this is something that you would like to do, here are some tips to help you.

One thing about smoking is that it is not only physically addicting but it is a psychological habit that is hard to break. You probably noticed that you always smoke at certain times like on the drive to work and after a meal. You need to replace that habit with a new one. When you feel the urge to smoke, do something else. This is a form of substitute behaviour and can really help you to break the lifelong habit.

Make your own custom quit smoking plan. Do this and you will feel much more in control of quitting smoking. Too many people fail because they try to use another person's plan which does not take into account their personality. You need to decide if you are the type that can quit cold turkey or if you need to gradually reduce the amount of times you smoke. Do you need help? Consider taking up a hobby. You will find that it helps you to pass the time and takes your mind off lighting up. You will have something else to do that is not only fun but is not as expensive as smoking or as harmful.
