WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU START GRIEVING

World in my mind - What to do when you start grieving - Grieving is not a nice feeling. It can make you feel like your insides are being torn around. It may seem impossible to move on with your life. But there is hope. There are ways to get through the grieving process so that you can become a stronger person and stay connected to the people you love.

Losing someone you love might have happened in one of two ways. Either his passing was expected or not. Both ways do not matter in the way you will grieve but will affect the way that you initially felt when you found out that the person was gone.

If you had no idea that your loved one was going to pass, then your initial reaction might be shock. The kind of shock that leaves you wondering if you`re dreaming and if what is happening is real. Often people in this stage cannot process the information properly and cannot function in general.

When a loved one passed away and you knew that it was going to happen, you will still be shocked but will believe it in a way. Knowing that someone is dying can give you the room your mind needs to process the event and prepare for it a bit.

There are some stages you might go through in your process through grief. The first one is shock and getting through the notion of it. Your body is going to feel shocked and your mind as well. During this stage you might cry off and on and have up and down feelings. Your emotions might feel like they are on a roller coaster, as one minute you are laughing at a good memory, while the next minute you are crying.

Your body while going through shock might not be able to properly function as well. You might feel tired all the time and feel the need to sleep. You might not have an appetite and therefore will not want to eat or drink. It is important during this stage, to ensure that you force yourself to eat and drink, because if you let your body get run down then it will ultimately affect how you can heal inside.

The next stage in the grieving process might be a feeling of anger. You might feel angry that your loved one died. Maybe he was too young, or died in a way that could have been prevented. Perhaps it was an illness or an older relative that you did not expect to pass. Feeling angry is normal and can make you feel like you need someone to blame. During this time it is best to keep communicating about your feelings to other loved ones or a professional who will listen to your thoughts. If you keep feelings bottled up inside it could be destructive to your healing process.

The next stage of grief can only be healed through the passing of time. And the stage is considered a time where you finally realize that your loved one is gone. You have gone through the initial shock and felt the anger and pain of it and the next step is actually feeling his absence in your life. This is the stage where you will miss hearing his voice, or seeing or touching him. With the passing of time, you realize that he is not coming back and that you won`t see him again. These feelings can often feel a bit claustrophobic. Because there are things that you cannot change no matter what.

World in my mind - How to behave the way we do - Research published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences discovered the amygdala also warns about financial risk. Two women with damaged amygdalas played a gambling game with several people with normal brains.

Those with normal brains were reluctant to risk money even with odds in their favor. The two women, however, were extreme risk takers - which makes one wonder about the amygdalas of bankers involved in 2008's government bailout.

Good deeds aren't boring and other peoples' good deeds can inspire us to be better people. Another study published in the journal Psychological Science had 36 women individually watch a video clip of an Oprah good deed, a nature documentary or a comedy show.

HOW TO WIN YOUR LOVE BACK

What is fascinating about the correct approach to voice training or voice improvement is that in addition to normalizing your volume, proper voice placement will correct many of the other problems you may be experiencing without additional work.


If you feel your voice sounds wimpy, strident, hoarse, gravelly, whispery, high-pitched, whiny, childlike, or quivering (just to name a few!), those '˜qualities' will simply disappear.

Let's say, for example, that your voice is child-like and soft.  When you find your '˜real' voice, you will suddenly discover that you sound mature '“ not too old, not too young. Your voice will be ageless in quality and your volume will increase all by itself.

If you have been speaking too loudly, on the other hand, your voice will decrease in volume to what is considered a normal level of sound once you allow your chest to power your voice.  Bear in mind, your habitual voice is being pushed from your throat and voice box, as well as by your mouth cavity and possibly your nasal passages, all of which can create a strident sound especially when speaking in a loud voice.

It is truly amazing to see how one process alone '“ using your chest to power and amplify your voice '“ can bring about the same results for both the loud voice and the one that is soft.  If you are serious about working on the volume of your voice, you will need to do three things:

1. learn to breathe with the support of your diaphragm;

2. discover the optimum pitch of your speaking voice '“ which is probably deeper than that of your habitual voice; and,

3. use your chest cavity to power your sound.

Being too loud or too soft in speaking is a learned habit that can be 'unbroken' simply by discovering your 'real' voice.  In the process, you will sound more mature, have the ability to increase your volume without excessive strain on your throat, and be able to get your message across the first time you say it!

An outdoor wedding shoes solution? Awesome Product Alert - Sole Mates!

The website says "Never sink into the grass again!" So I took the Sole Mates out for a spin. As a Matron of Honor in a wedding involving outdoor photographs, I thought they would come in handy, and they did. My favorite things?

1. No one knew I had them on - they're clear.
2. They made it more comfortable to walk on cement and rocky side walks.
3. I felt totally stable on the grass.
4. They collected all the dirt that would have been on my shoes! You can flip them over and see all the dirt your shoes avoided.

The only downside is that they are not “one size fits all.” My shoes had a pretty thin stiletto on them so the poor Sole Mates ended up spinning around a little. They also give you a little extra height, so you should practice walking in them first. But a great extra “pro?” When you do walk around your apartment in them, the rubber bottoms totally quiet the heel, so there’s no fear of annoying your neighbors.
