How to Find Your Bridal Style

Welcome to "How To" week!  This week all our posts start with those fabulous, helpful words...How To.  We'll help you tackle finding a style, breaking in your shoes, and caring for your jewelry!  Make sure to check back Wednesday and Friday for more great advice.

How to Find Your Bridal Style

We participated at a recent bridal event called "Find Your Bridal Style" and were in love with the idea.  The swanky event held at Susan Fredman at Home in the City aimed at discovering your style as a bride.  The formula was simple.  Four "types" of brides reveal four different looks.  Discover which one you are and watch the pieces of your wedding day look reveal themselves.  Here are the four styles and our favorite jewelry and shoe choices.  Read on to find out your bridal style.

Vintage Glam
Your style screams dramatic, ultra-feminine and glamorous! When it comes to your wedding day, think luxury with enchanting detail.  Look for the bold and beautiful - pair it with black and you've got a splash of glamour! Pearls and vintage brooches next to a comfortable, art deco inspired shoe will make sure you're in the spotlight all night long.

Our suggestions: Astoria Shoe by Angela Nuran $249, Scroll Cuff Bracelet $98, Pearl & Crystal Earrings $88, Mila Necklace $269, Casique Brooch, $56

Simple Elegance
You are the epitome of style and grace.  You want your day to be exquisite, yet traditional and understated.  Crystal glassware, matched with silver and black patterns speaks to your elegant nature as will your jewelry that is simple, classic, and soft.

Our Suggestions: Chelsea Peep Toe Shoe $130, Bubble Pearl Bracelet $68 and Earrings $46, Veuve Pearl Hairpins $98/set of three.

Bohemian Beauty
You are unique, free-spirited, with an adventurous streak.  You can add flair to any look, creating your own distinctive style.  Look for our floral patterns, pairing them with colorful glassware.  Jewelry that is soft with a touch of sparkle will look beautiful paired with a simple flat and sassy headband.

Our Suggestions: Flower Flat Bridal Shoe $88, Organza Flower Headband $68, Becky Coin Pearl Lariat Necklace $189, Althea Bracelet $149, Megan Earrings, $98 all by Meg Wedding Jewelry.

Urban Chic
Sophistication comes to mind.  Your style is refined, versatile, and contemporary.  You have impeccable taste and an eye for fashion.  Embrace trends like sky high heel, feathers, and giant stones.  With your sense of style, it is sure to look fabulous.

Our suggestions: Valentine 4" Heeled Shoe $195, Crystal Glam Bracelet $42, Glam Earrings by Haute Bride $149, Blush Featherette Hairpiece $129.  We also love the brand new glam all crystal shoes by Benjamin Adams (not shown) which have debuted to rave reviews.

JAKARTA.. JAKARTA

world in my mind
World in my mind - Love Poems - Jakarta..Jakarta

There are so much stars in the sky tonight
Blink - blink.. it's looks like smile and said" why ur look so sad
not should be dropping ur tears even ur lonely

The lights come through a loneliness soul
Enlightening a silent night

It's almost midnight..
and I can't sleep yet as usual...

Jakarta at night
Will I get chance to meet you again
Stepping my foot in the crowded
Breathing deeply
in the bussiest daily core
Heart of the Capital City

Will you teach me more how have to be strong enough..
In this grim life
Everyone struggle in the life's battle
to survive..
to achieve what they need
for better future

My mind can't stop thinking
and my eyes not yet even sleepy
Let me feel you...
Let me sleep in the night that i'm used to be..
Before I'm not getting second chance

Good Night

CELL PHONE ADDICTS

world in my mind
World in my mind - Cell Phone addicts - Are we really addicted by cellphone? Many view cell phones as an essential item, an integral tool necessary for family, work, safety and social networking. Cell phone addiction (particularly in teenagers) is becoming common as cell phones become more popular. If your teen is constantly texting, calling, and emailing on mobile device, and too much.. that's could be the signs.. is that normal?

It's irritating for me, especially when you talking with someone while they're also doing something, typing, texting..emailing, etc..We have so many times to doing our jobs, hobbies, spare time.. but sometimes we have no enough time to spend a little time just to hear someone speaks, which is need a little attention at that time... Stay positive and thanks for stopping by in World in My Mind, coz your comments really is worthy for me!

UNIQUE CULINARY

world in my mind
World in my mind - Solo "The Spirit of Java". Solo (Surakarta) Indonesia is famous for the many traditional culinary delicious snacks. Some typical foods of Surakarta, among others: "liwet rice", "timlo rice", "gudeg" (slightly different from "Gudeg" Yogyakarta that always dominant with sweet taste), "cabuk rambak", "pancake Notosuman".. hmmm this is one of my favorite hand carry souvenir culinary for friends and family, "intip", bakpia Balong, mandarin bread bakery Orion, "wedang asle" it's hot drink with glutinous rice, etc..

There are so much more delicious culinary at Solo, Central Java.. I'm not gonna reviewing one by one here . I wanna talking about one of unique culinary food that just opened very early in the morning and always full of queue, when have to come more early before habis.. and here I'll suggest you to come and taste by yourself by coming to "Margoyudan Street" then you'll gonna found one place named Gudeg Ceker bu Kasno", it's usually open after midnight on 01.30 am, as usual you'll gonna found the queue so long and if you not come more early than the others will run out so fast in hours count, and the taste is different with Gudeg Yogyakarta, it's more tasty, delicious with "Ceker".. chicken's feet. Might be you find another places that selling the same menu, but believe me the taste you'll got is difference and not same as in Margoyudan Street. According history from people around, it's already opened since 1970 by Bu Kasno (64 years old) and it's heritage recipe from her mother.

When you traveling to Solo, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.. which is near with my hometown.. don't forget to taste one of delicious culinary, snacks, or hand carry souvenir for your friends and family. Solo is one best destination if you traveling around Central Java, you'll find welcoming and warm people, unique culture, and so much delicious culinary, and all affordable. It's World in my mind.

How to Select Bridal Hair Jewelry

Bridal Hairpieces by Bride's Head Revisited

One of the more perplexing wedding accessories to select is the hair jewelry.  Be it a headpiece, clip, comb, or bandeau, lots of options can leave you feeling overwhelmed.  We're here to help.  Hop on over to our post on Bridal Headpieces - Defined! to get familiar with the options.

Now that you know the names of all your options and what they look like, here are our top five tips for selecting the perfect headpiece for you.

1.  Decide if you'll be wearing a veil. - The size of your headpiece is dictated by whether or not you'll be wearing it with a veil or not.  Here are some questions to think about...am I wearing a veil?  Will I be taking off my veil for the reception?  Do I want a piece to wear with my veil?  Do I want a piece to replace my veil when I take it off?  If you're not wearing a veil, or replacing your  veil with a headpiece for the reception, you can opt for a larger, more showy piece like a fascinator or extra large feather and flower combination.  If you're wearing your veil all night, opt for something a bit more structured that will sit under the veil nicely.

2.  Where is your wedding?  If you're having an outdoor ceremony on cliff that is really windy, you might want to avoid pieces with lots of flyaway feathers and tulle.  Where as a tuft of feathers on a small comb would be perfect for small, vineyard wedding.  Keep your location, and the weather, in mind when you're considering what style to choose.

3.  How are you wearing your hair?  While sets of scattered hairpins are gorgeous in a swept back bun, they don't really work if you're wearing your hair down.  If you have your heart set on a specific piece, make sure you take it to your hair trial with an open mind, so your stylist can make it work.

4.  Think about the other jewelry you're wearing.  When putting accessories for an outfit together, it's all about the whole look.  Make sure you have one focal piece and fit the rest around it.  If you want to wear a very large crystal headpiece choose that first and then find earrings, necklace, and a bracelet to compliment.  If you already found drop dead gorgeous earrings, opt for a more subtle headpiece that will compliment and not over shadow.

5.  Know what makes you comfortable.  You want to feel like a beautiful version of yourself on your wedding day.  So if you're not comfortable in a headband in "real life," don't force yourself to wear one with your wedding dress.  Stay true to your style and vision as a bride by selecting a piece that you love.

VALENTINO ROSSI DEBUTE WITH DUCATI

World in my mind - Will Valentino Rossi success with Ducati in the next season of Moto GP? He has decided to join with Ducati next Moto GP season after finished race in Brno last week ago. If that so, he will be matched with Nicky Hayden.

I think he is already knew the risk for taking that chance and moved on to Ducati in the next season of Moto GP 2011. As before when he decided to moved on from Honda to Yamaha, many people think that his carrier will gonna died because at that time Yamaha in bad condition.

But he is really is " The Doctor" because the fact is he able to destroying public opinion and finnally succedd brought Yamaha to the so many podium winner and rise up Yamaha Motor Company so fast. In the other side, Yamaha will lost great icon rider Valentino Rossi, and as the replacement Ben Spies will be match by Jorge Lorenzo in the next season.

Although this season Rossi failed to be a World Champion of Moto GP because of his worst fall insiden at Mugello Italia circuit, but it's miracle that he heals so fast from the injury. I think no race that feels like so much energy and great battle in the circuits if Rossi was not there. He brought different atmosphere in the race and motivate another rider. Inspiring rider Valentino "The Doctor" Rossi. It's World in my mind.

HOW TO TAKE A GOOD PHOTOS

world in my mind
World in my mind - Still life photography has many uses. Perhaps you want to take a photograph of a beautiful bowl of fruit or perhaps you have learned that an important key to eBay success is uploading quality photos of your products. Other reasons for learning still life photography may include selling still life photograph downloads at microstock sites or to food magazines. No matter what your reason, still life photography is a great skill to learn.

Unless you are photographing specific products or pictures for a magazine assignment, the subjects for your still life photography are endless. Fine art still lifes aren't limited to just apples and grapes. Even super simple items like a few artfully arranged spools of thread can be interesting and attract attention. There are a couple of microstock sites like Shutterstock and iStock that have a high demand for all sorts of still life pictures from simple to complex.

In one way, still life photography is a lot easier than other forms of photography like landscape, sports or pet photography. With stills, you often have full control over the composition and can arrange the inanimate objects exactly how you want them.

And sometimes, good quality still life pictures can be even more challenging to photograph. Because still lifes are taken up close, it's easy to see imperfections on your subject that you would normally never see. Despite its challenge, using basic photography skills and the following tips, you can create quality still life pictures.

Still Life Photography Lighting
Professional photographers usually use a soft box or a light box to shoot their still lifes. However this isn't absolutely necessary as you will see in a moment, but it can be a big help. However, if you do want one, you can find a soft box online or you can easily make one using instructions you find online. The purpose of these tools is to provide good, even light. You can also get a good quality of light by setting up your photo shoot outside. A high overcast or bright sky can create a natural soft box effect without having any of the harsh shadows.

Composition for Still Life Photography
Arrange your objects in a pleasing composition. Use a classical composition technique such as "Rule of Thirds" or "Leading Lines" or "Frame within a Frame" to create a good composition. Arrange the items artfully and use your imagination to get the exact placement that you want. For example, if it's a picture of a piece of cake, instead of including the entire table setting, place a gleaming, silver dessert fork upside down on the plate and remove a tiny bite from the cake.

Fill the Frame with Your Still Life Subject
Remember, the only thing that should be in your viewfinder or on your preview LCD screen is your composition. Remove any clutter and get up close with your camera. If you have a backdrop or background you don't like don't worry about it because it can be easily solved. The soft box or light box solves this issue, but if you are shooting outside, here's something you can do: place a piece of white foam board or piece of material behind your subject, and voila - no more distracting background. Be sure to use Macro mode so that you get a sharp image.

Look for a Good Angle and Start Shooting!
Instead of shooting from your height, hold the camera so that it is level with your subject. You should also try shooting from a variety of different angles.

Hopefully these tips have provided you some helpful information on taking still life photos that you can start putting to use immediately.
